
During his public service career, John Andrews worked on a variety of economic development programs as well as the formation and amendment of redevelopment project areas and plans. He also worked on retail, commercial, industrial, and affordable housing projects.
Additionally, he represented two local agencies on Business Improvement District boards and participated in the development and implementation of comprehensive downtown revitalization strategies. Before retiring in September 2020, he served with four Southern California municipal agencies: Ontario, Pasadena, Azusa, and Riverside. He currently serves as an economic development advisor to the City of Ontario.
John contributes to JGA through organizational assessments, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and executive coaching that help leaders see possibilities and achieve meaningful results. His favorite JGA value is Drive, which aligns with his commitment to helping teams pursue goals with clarity and determination. John draws inspiration from the quote from Benjamin Franklin, “Energy and Persistence Conquer all Things,” which reflects his approach to leadership and service.
